Echo Does Agility!
Yet another testament to just how quickly time flies, I am astounded that Echo and I went to our first trial together this month! I signed us up for just one day of the Atlanta Golden Retriever Club's trial in Pendleton, SC - it's an arena where I feel comfortable and since the Sundays are usually less crowded, I thought that would be best for his debut. Of course his two runs were first thing in the morning and very last thing in the afternoon - so it was a looong 12 hour day - all for about 60 seconds of fun! It rained pretty much all day, everything everything was caked in mud, but the day's exhaustion was sweet with victory! I was lucky enough to get video of both of his runs - thanks to lovely friends! Here is O'My! Fire In The Hole!, NovB JWW Q and First Place and NovB Std Q and Second Place!https://youtu.be/Bejnqb9Vx5ohttps://youtu.be/xkNUW3uo2KAI am crazy proud of my boy - the work we've done with training so far really paid off - we are indebted to the many teachers we've had so far - most of all to Sandy Bird and Katy Chadwick - for making sure I know when I've messed it all up. But most of all, I am outrageously proud of what a fabulous job Echo did of listening to me. It's hard to believe he's creeping up on two years old (omg!) since he's still such a light-hearted, goofball bubble all the time, but just as he does with disc, when the time came, my boy got down to business. He waited and watched - he heard me and reacted - it was just a little bit magical and I can't wait to play again! And again!
